Core Mechanic

The core mechanic of Beats & Bolts is allowing the player to move or attack on a beat with the rhythm of the background music. The movement of the player is fixed, so the player can only move between zones. The camera will move with the player but it will always be focused on the centre where the boss will reside represented by the blue cylinder.

In the demo, the player is able to move when the circle below the player turns green, and can only accept one input during this time frame. If the circle below the player is red or the player has already inputted when the circle is green, then the input is ignored. In the future we plan to add a punishment for moving when the circle is red, but we felt that it was not something that is integral to demonstrating the core mechanic.

Note: Input was temporary changed to WASD to easily show the input in the demo. Moving forward, the input will be swapped to controller input.
