Devlog 4 - Beginning Stages


Current Progress

As we are in the middle of implementing some of our core mechanics and improving upon the aesthetics of the prototype, we'd like to share the progress we have so far. 


Since our proof of concept, we've refined the movement system and the radial slicing script of the arena space. The player is able to move, but they must move on beat. There is a beat indicator under the player that flashes green and red. Green represents when it is on beat and red represents when it is off beat. We also added a simple soundtrack to help the players stay on beat. At the moment, there is no penalty for moving off beat, but we plan on having a punishment system for moving off beat to encourage players to stay on beat. 


We've added a couple of assets to improve the visuals of the current prototype. We added a custom boss model and a model of the environment space and arena. We also played with the lighting and materials to create a scene with harsh shadows. 


These are all the features we have for now, but many more are soon to come!
