Devlog 2 (UI + Visuals) - Stage Setting

After importing the asset models and creating materials for the scene, I created a rough setup of how the environment would look based on our concept art and design intent for the gameplay. I decided to put the important infrastructures and background assets by the intersection to highlight their details, these include the Gas Station, Subway Station Entrance (which will be added later), Stop Light, and Smaller Buildings. Though the camera's perspective of the game is static, I made sure to make the assets placed at a perfect angle and distance to not appear flat and generic models. Though the Toon Outline Shaders helped to eliminate this problem, we could not utilize this as much because of the conflict we have with building the game and the script that I made does not fully achieve the look we are aiming for.






Once the environment has been roughly set, I proceed to work with asset animations and dynamic materials using shadergraphs by Unity. Applied personal scripts that mimic the toon outline effects and fine-tuned the existing textures that our 3D artist (Hedy) made to optimize inside Unity.
